Auch, France

This meeting took place from 7-11/2/2022.

During five consecutive days, 15 students and 7 teachers from the partner schools and 20 students and 5 teachers from the hosting school collaborated on a series of activities conducted in English, with the aim of collecting data to create the final products of the LTTA, as these were defined in the project proposal, with a remodeling to take the necessary precautions to disperse the corona virus. 

The activities were carried out in well-equipped computer labs but also were included on-site educational and cultural visits, receiving all the necessary health protocols.

In addition, practical issues for the further implementation of the project were resolved at the teachers' onsite and online meetings and the Safer Internet Day was also celebrated by all the participants. 

Unfortunately, our partners from Austria didn't manage to participate - even virtual due to Covid pandemic measurements in their area.

Analytically:

As the hosting school is involved in sustainable development projects they had many well-equipped workshops to carry through the meeting. All the activities planned with a common characteristic which was to have a better diet while preserving the planet, aiming to make our pupils think about the urge to limit our negative environmental footprint. They had chosen to focus on meat because poultry and pork are traditional farming activities in the Gers county so they were able to propose local visits to all of us so as to evaluate the impact of meat consumption on the environment and to adapt our consumer behavior in order to be eco responsible.  
Day 1: The warm welcome of the School Principal Mr Francis Timbur was followed by a presentation of the schools and the countries involved in the project. Today, international teamwork was based on activities about the ¨Short Supply Chains and Procurement¨. After luch the BTEE Tourism students have showed us around the city. Back at school, the day ended with a KAHOOT about Auch.
Day 2: First we visited the sustainable farm and its slaughter house "la ferme en coton" (farming in a traditional way: healthy feeding, GMO free, pastures...) vs an intensive farming Then the local company Les Ducs de Gascogne specialized in duck products. To celebrate the “Safe Internet Day” we ended the day with a virtual activity at school with the students left in our countries.
Day 3: The day started with a conference by “La maison de l’Europe” about the possibilities offered by Erasmus. Then Janine Levêque, responsible for Commercial Administration and Exportations in the “Ethiquable”, the cooperative, citizen and solidarity company, explained students fairtrade, short supply chains and the economical model based on cooperatives in France. This conference went live on the project’s Facebook page "Eat Smart Save Your Land". In the afternoon we had the chance to visit "Esquiro", Domaine de la Higuere  in Mirepoix, a wine estate that makes wine and Armagnac (local spirit). The winery practices woofing.
Day 4: The whole day was spent in beautiful Toulouse. Visited the exhibition of theatrical machines made of wood and steel “LΑ HALLE DE LA MACHINE”. Had a guided tour of the sights and lots of free time to walk around France’s pink city.
Day 5: School activities to summarize the visits related to the theme of the project. In the Final Ceremony certificates and europasses where delivered to all participants. Also visited the museum of the Americas and played an escape game.

The tasks that students were implemented in transnational teams during this mobility were referred to:
- short circuit, general information, padlet
- procurement
- Sustainable diets: with local products, no pesticides, no additives
- the relationship between diet and the immune system
- The impact of carbon print on climate change
Thus all participants achieved to:
-improve their knowledge on the concept of short supply chains and procurement.
-improve their 4Cs skills (communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking)
-improve their English language competence through activities with their European peers, attending conferences.
-improve their digital skills by using web platforms, digital tools like Kahoot, Wheel decide…
-be aware of the need to tackle some related topics to climate change such as reducing the carbon print of the food products and act as an eco-citizen.
The excellent organization by the hosting school, the fact that all were hosted in the same hotel, as well as the fact that we had several collaborative tasks and visits, made this meeting a real opportunity:
- for teachers: to make constructive discussions and exchanges of good practises
- for students: collaborate, and communicate in order to solve job-related subjects. They realized the necessity of using a professional English language on the European food related labor market ; become more motivated to communicate and participate in next tasks to twinspace and in next mobilities, so as to achieve the project's objectives ;make strong friendships
-for parents: by attending the online live event to the projects' facebook page they had the chance to understand the importance of such mobilities and the opportunities these offer.
