A virtual mobility

The title of the LTTA was "Impacts of food systems on climate change - Impacts of climate change on food security and nutrition".

This LTTA was held online to WebEx platform on 25-27/10/2021. 

Unfortunately, although we planned this mobility all together, our partners from France and Austria were not able to participate during this period as they were on holidays. Eventually, due to the extreme weather conditions that hit Sicily at that time, neither our Italian partners could participate. All tasks remained as these were -in 6 teams- and were achieved by Turkish (Yenimahalle Şehit Ali Tonga Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi), Greek (EK Nafpaktou), and Serbian(Hemijsko-prehrambena tehnološka škola).

The first day of the meeting which was held on the 25th of October, the coordinator of the Turkish team Mrs. Kübra Ersan started with the opening speech and presenting the programme of the virtual mobility.

Meanwhile, the headmistress of the hosting school, Mrs. Şengül Doğan welcomed all the participants and expressed the honor of hosting them. 

Then a webinar entitled "Holistic Approach to Prevent Food Waste" was given by Mrs K. Orak.

The topics that were explored in mixed teams to the breakout sessions were:

-Food processes 

-The impact of food processes on climate change 

-Sustainable diets 

-The concept of zero waste – general info, cookbook 

-Ways to reduce food waste – general info, examples in their countries 

-Circular economy: Art out of food waste – general info, padlet with techniques/examples or/and photo collages
